InDesign is the industry standard not Quark

People still use quark? Really? InDesign is for more prevalent than InDesign now. Although Quark did have some cool features that InDesign doesn’t it’s ability to interface with copy editing software makes it the favorite it newsrooms, plus it’s ability to read quark as well as Pagemaker files. I use inDesign. It’s better, WAY better. It is definitely more widely used than quark now and is considered the industry standard.

Quark’s glory days were over 3 years ago.

That really depends what kind of industry you are talking about.

Mainly, book publishers will use Quark while InDesign is used for magazines. Though you might not be using Quark, if you want to get hired, it’s best to know it. At least that’s my experience, but I have been out of that world for a few years now.
