Just curious how many people have heard of grid systems and how many of you use them? Do you adhere to them strictly or loosely? I’m a fan of grids, I think they help with keeping things consistent and just make design more fun in general. I was first introduced to the concept of grids when I read Josef Muller-Brockmann’s book Grid Systems in Graphic Design. There are also lots of sites on the web that specifically deal with grid systems in web design such as The Grid System. I like to use the overlay tool from the 960 Grid System to ensure I am keeping things consistent.
